History

Isaac Low Cemetery holds the grave of Sabine County pioneer Isaac Low (1781-1853), a Tennessee native who brought his family to the area in 1828, received a league and labor of land from the Mexican government in 1835, and operated a ferry on the Sabine River. The old cemetery near Sabinetown now sits along the shore of Toledo Bend Reservoir.
