History

First Baptist Church of Aransas Pass traces its beginnings to October 17, 1909, when the Rev. J.D. Hall organized sixteen charter members as the Aransas Pass Missionary Baptist Church, nearly six months before the city itself was incorporated. The congregation later sponsored several area missions, including a Mexican Baptist mission begun in 1954 and early churches in Port Aransas and Rockport. A Texas Historical Commission marker was placed in 2009.
