This Welder family gravesite in San Patricio County recalls the pioneer Welder ranching family long associated with the Texas coastal bend. John Welder, who emigrated from Bavaria and married Dolores Power, daughter of Irish empresario James Power, held one of South Texas's largest ranches by the mid-1800s, and his descendants remained prominent cattle ranchers in the region.
