History
The Historic Aviation Memorial Museum (HAMM) grew out of the Lone Star Wing of the Confederate Air Force, established in 1981; after its PBY-6A aircraft was destroyed in a 1984 accident, its founder created the Historic Aircraft Memorial Foundation in 1985. The museum opened to the public in 1990 and moved into the old passenger terminal at Tyler Pounds Regional Airport in 2007. Its collection includes military aircraft such as an F-111, F-105, T-33, and F-4 along with aviation memorabilia and a flight simulator.
