History
Also known as the Hawthorne or Turman Cemetery, this Smith County burial ground is a link to the pioneers of the Noonday community, where a post office opened in 1880. William Turman bought the surrounding land in 1914, and his family cared for the cemetery for decades before deeding it to the Noonday Cemetery Association in 1982.
