History
The Fielder House Museum, headquarters of the Arlington Historical Society, occupies a two-story brick home built in 1914 for lawyer, banker, and farmer James Park Fielder Sr. One of Arlington's earliest brick residences, the "Home on the Hill" crowned a 215-acre hilltop farm and boasted electric lighting, central heating, and indoor plumbing. Restored through a citizen campaign, it opened as the Fielder Museum in 1980 and displays local artifacts including the J. W. Dunlop collection of more than 200 early photographs.
