History

The DFW Elite Toy Museum in Haltom City displayed the collection of entrepreneur Ron Sturgeon, who built a Haltom City salvage business he sold to Ford Motor Company in 1999 and spent decades collecting automobile toys and memorabilia. The museum held more than 3,000 pieces, including rare and vintage automotive toys, scale models, signs, and classic cars, and was featured on the television series American Pickers. The collection later moved to North Fort Worth, where it reopened as the DFW Car and Toy Museum.
