History
Calloway Cemetery near Euless takes its name from brothers Richard H. Calloway (1832–1874) and Joseph W. Calloway (1829–1877), who owned this land in the 1860s and whose graves are the earliest marked here. Richard's widow, Catherine (Coble), deeded 1.5 acres for a public burial ground in 1886, and a wooden tabernacle was built in 1908. Many pioneer settlers of eastern Tarrant County are buried here; the Texas Historical Commission marked the cemetery in 1980, adding a Historic Texas Cemetery medallion in 2009.
