History

McDonald Hall was one of eight original buildings on the hilltop campus to which Abilene Christian College moved in 1929. The residence hall was named for early benefactors A. F. and Cornelia "Neelie" McDonald and cost nearly $107,000 to build. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992; the aging hall was ultimately demolished in 2020.
