History

The Eckert House at 503 Koberlin Street in San Angelo was completed in 1911 by German immigrants Oscar and Martha Geissler Eckert, with Oscar and his brother Henry doing much of the construction. A tinsmith, windmill maker, and saloon keeper as well as a farmer, Oscar Eckert filled the house with pressed-tin work covering the roof, ceilings, and some interior walls. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
