History

Pfluger Cemetery began in 1867 when German immigrant Henry Pfluger (1803-1867), who had brought his family to Texas in 1850, was buried on his land near his home. In 1880 his widow Christina set aside the one-acre plot as a family cemetery; it holds 18 graves, with the last burial in 1917. The nearby town of Pflugerville was named for this pioneer family, whose descendants have maintained the cemetery and gathered for annual reunions since 1934. A Texas Historical Commission marker was placed at the site in 1975.
