History
The Warren School in the small East Texas community of Warren, in Tyler County, was completed in 1935 with federal Public Works Administration assistance and is the only building of its size and era remaining in town. It was designed by the Beaumont architectural firm Steinman, Steinman & Golemon and built by the Herman Weber Construction Company, a two-toned brick building with an E-shaped plan and Italian Renaissance Revival detailing around its entry pavilion. Warren itself grew as a lumber mill town after the Texas & New Orleans Railroad arrived in 1883.
