History
Heritage Village Museum, a mile west of Woodville, recreates a small East Texas farm and timber community of the mid-1800s to about 1920. It was founded by illustrator and cartoonist Clyde Edward Gray, who began the attraction on his former strawberry farm in the 1950s and sold it to the Tyler County Heritage Society in 1987. The site now holds more than 30 relocated and replicated pioneer structures plus the Pickett House Restaurant, known for boarding-house-style meals.
