Organized 1872 as Double Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jacob Zeigler as pastor. When Marshall & East Texas Railway was built and a town platted, this was renamed (in 1907) Rosewood Baptist Church. Original "meeting house", a part of present building, has been used 96 years.
