History

Falba Cemetery is nearly all that survives of Falba, a Walker County community that grew around the 1824 homestead of Christopher Columbus Edinburgh, reputedly the county's first settler and a veteran of the Battle of San Jacinto. The settlement gained a post office in 1901 and by 1936 had two schools, a church, and a store, but had faded to little more than its cemetery by 1990.
