Marker Inscription
From Highway 290 in Prairie View, go north on FM-1098 for 6.2 miles. The road then becomes FM-1488 at the Mayer Road intersection. Continue north for another .8 miles. Where FM-1488 curves east for the second time, turn north onto Old Mitchell Road. The street sign has "Old" in small print, and you're likely to see only "Mitchell". The other Mitchell Road, without the "Old", is another quarter mile east. It's easy to get these two mixed up. On Old Mitchell Road, go north .2 miles to the cemetery, on the left, in the northwest corner of Old Mitchell and Kirby Chapel Roads. Pull into the grass in the inside corner of the "L" shaped fence to park by the fence gate.
