History
St. Mary's Catholic Church at 701 Church Street in Brenham traces its parish to 1870, when it was organized as the second Roman Catholic parish in Washington County by Irish, German, and Polish families. The present church building was constructed in 1935 by architects Leo M. J. Dieleman and Alex Griffen. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
