History

The Museum of North Texas History opened in 2001 at 720 Indiana Avenue in downtown Wichita Falls, in a building donated to Wichita County by the late Rusty Lindemann. Its galleries interpret North Texas from Native American heritage and frontier life through the oil boom and military history, and it maintains a satellite "Jenny to Jet" exhibit at the regional airport. Collections include "Nat's Hats," a display of more than 500 hats.
