History
Clara Cemetery, established in 1888, is the surviving remnant of the vanished town of Clara in northern Wichita County. German immigrant Herman Specht platted the townsite in 1886 and named it for his wife, Clara; the community once had a church, schools, a store, and a post office before declining after its school consolidated with Burkburnett. The first person buried here was Pleasant Queen, and the Texas Historical Commission designated the site a Historic Texas Cemetery in 2009.
