History
Emzy Taylor built this Georgetown house in 1869 and filled it with local firsts, reportedly including one of the town's earliest hot-water bathtubs and a private telephone line. Taylor was instrumental in bringing Southwestern University to Georgetown and helped establish the Georgetown Railroad Company. His daughter Cora married R. T. Cooper, whose family formed the second generation to occupy the home, giving it the name Taylor-Cooper House.
