History

This Georgetown house was built around 1909, reportedly by the C. S. Belford Lumber Company, as the home of Southwestern University German professor Martin C. Amos and his family. It was later owned by another Southwestern faculty member, chemistry professor John Campbell Godbey, who lived there until 1965. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Historic Resources of Georgetown.
