History

The Belford Lumber Company built this two-story buff-brick home in Georgetown in 1910 for attorney Cooper Sansom (1863–1928), a former newspaperman who served as city attorney, state representative, and district judge. Its Prairie School design features wide overhanging eaves, a low horizontal form, and Tuscan columns. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, the house received a Texas historical marker in 1988.
