History

The Mueller Bridge, also known as the bridge at McAlister Crossing, is a 252-foot metal Warren polygonal-chord truss bridge completed in 1915 about two miles east of La Vernia in Wilson County. One of only two multi-span bridges of its type in Texas, it originally had a wooden deck and now stands on private property. It was named a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 2004, added to Preservation Texas's Most Endangered list in 2006, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
