Marker Inscription
Designed in the Italianate style and constructed of stucco-covered brick with decorative sheet metal details. It is a two-story building with a T-shaped plan, topped by a large pyramidal-roofed tower. The building's facades are pierced with segmental arch windows on the ground floor and with round arch openings on the second floor. Quoins provide visual support at every corner, while stringcourses unite these quoins and hood molds on each floor. One-story porticos supported by two columns and surmounted with a balustrade mark the entrances on three facades. Additions to the north and east corners were constructed in the 1930s and 1950s.

History
The Wilson County Courthouse in Floresville was designed by architect Alfred Giles, who used local brick for its Italianate design. The courthouse was remodeled in the 1930s, when the brick was plastered over, and again in the 1950s. The courthouse and its adjacent 1887 jail (designed by James Riely Gordon) were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, and the courthouse was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1984; the former jail now operates as the Wilson County Jailhouse Museum.
