The Florence Robinson Cottage stands on the campus of Jarvis Christian University near Hawkins, a historically Black institution in Wood County. Students and alumni built the Modern Movement-style cottage between 1939 and 1941, and it first served as the residence of the college's second president, Peter C. Washington. It was later renamed for former instructor Florence Robinson, who funded its 1976 restoration as the Alumni Heritage House, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
