History
The Alba Public Library and Museum preserves the history of Alba, a Wood County town that grew around the railroad, cotton gins, coal mines, and oil fields after the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad arrived in 1881. Opened in its current form in March 2011 after years of volunteer remodeling, the museum's exhibits include a veterans' display spanning the Civil War to the present, an ice cream bar salvaged from the 1908 Cranford Drug Store, and an antique Model T, fitting since the building once served as a Ford dealership.
