History

Freeman Chapel Cemetery sits beside Freeman Chapel Church northeast of Mineola in Wood County, along Martin Bridge Road (FM 1254). Both the church and cemetery honor pioneer Lee Freeman, who is buried here, and the grounds hold more than one hundred graves, many of them unmarked. The cemetery carries the state's Historic Texas Cemetery designation.
