History
The National Theatre at 522 Oak Street on Graham's downtown square traces to 1920 as the town's first movie house. After a 1939 fire, it was rebuilt in 1941 in the Moderne style by architects Jack Corgan and W. J. Moore, and it retains features such as a Carrara-glass facade, 1930s light fixtures, and terrazzo flooring. Restored in 1980 and honored by the League of Historic American Theatres in 1992, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993 and still operates as a cinema.
