Division Street & Downtown Arlington Pub Crawl (UT Arlington)

UTA's campus sits right beside Division Street, and this crawl follows that old highway east from a beloved campus-edge dive into the heart of downtown Arlington. Along the way you'll hit a pool-table dive with a patio, a local brewery with a record store tucked inside, and the pub a UTA business grad opened in 1979. This crawl links the University of Texas at Arlington to downtown along Division Street, the old highway that runs past campus, and it's built around the kind of places locals genuinely love: dives with personality, a brewery that doubles as a music venue, and pubs with deep Arlington roots.

Caves Lounge, opened in 2003 by a couple who wanted to bring the spirit of their favorite bars across the country home to Arlington, is bathed in red light, has a crackling fire playing on a TV in the fireplace, and fills its big back patio with a mix of UTA students and longtime regulars; it even earned a place in the Texas Dive Bar Encyclopedia. Division Brewing, founded in 2015 by two Arlington homebrewers, is known for IPAs and fruited sours and hides a record shop that hosts live music most weekends.

J. Gilligan's has been a fixture since 1979, when a new UTA business graduate opened it and named it for a fellow alum. It's best known for its St. Patrick's Day party and Irish Nachos, and one menu item still honors a longtime UTA professor. The rest of the route mixes laid-back local bars with downtown's livelier side.
