Boerne's outdoor reputation runs on two things: a cave and a creek. Cascade Cavern has been drawing visitors underground since the 1930s, into passages an ancient branch of the Cibolo River carved through Hill Country limestone. A few miles away, that same Cibolo Creek surfaces again at a spring-fed wetland the town has turned into a nature preserve, a working-farm museum, and its biggest public park. This drive links the two faces of Boerne's landscape — what's below the ground and what's growing on top of it.
