The Lone Star Rally: Bikers on the Seawall

Every November, the low rumble of engines rolls over Galveston Island as the Lone Star Rally takes over the Seawall and the Strand — the largest motorcycle rally in Texas and, by many counts, the biggest four-day bike rally in North America, drawing hundreds of thousands of people and tens of thousands of bikes. This driving loop follows the rally's turf from the wide-open Seawall Boulevard along the Gulf to the historic downtown Strand, taking in the harborfront and island landmarks along the way. Admission to the rally is free, and the atmosphere is pure celebration: custom bikes, live bands, food, and vendors packed onto storied streets. Note that the rally runs one weekend in November — this route is worth driving any time, but time it right and you'll ride into the roar.
