Schertz, Cibolo, and Marion don't share a founding myth or a single famous name — they share a railroad. When the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio line pushed west through Guadalupe County in the 1870s, it planted three towns in the space of two years, turning German farmland into shipping points almost overnight. This drive follows the old rail corridor east from Schertz through Cibolo to Marion, tracing how one company's tracks built three towns that are all still here today.
