Constructed in the Classical Revival style of buff brick with limestone detailing and shallow porticos at the east and west entrances. The pediments were stripped of their original copper ornament in 1948, and then stuccoed in 1989.

The Armstrong County Courthouse in Claude was built in 1911–1912 at a cost of about $40,000, a three-story buff-brick Classical Revival building designed by architect Elmer George Withers and constructed by L. R. Wright & Company of Dallas. It replaced the county's first courthouse, an 1890 frame structure.
