History

Baileyboro Cemetery serves the small community of Baileyboro, settled about 1900 in southern Bailey County. The cemetery's markers, transcribed for the county cemetery survey, include early residents such as Mary E. Parnell (1863-1942). Bailey County itself was named for Peter James Bailey, a defender of the Alamo.
