History
The Bandera County Courthouse was built in 1890-1891 as the county's first permanent courthouse, a three-story Second Renaissance Revival building of rusticated limestone quarried locally, topped by a central clock tower. It was designed by San Antonio architect B. F. Trester, who died during construction, with Ed Braden and Sons as builders. Together with the adjacent former jail, the courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark.
