History

Bomarton Cemetery serves the railroad town of Bomarton in southwestern Baylor County, founded in 1906 when the Wichita Valley Railroad extended from Seymour to Abilene and named for early settler W. H. Bomar. The community's earliest recorded burial dates to January 1908. Bomarton grew to nearly 600 residents in the 1920s through 1940s before declining after World War II.
