History
Founded in 1959 by Lucile A. Robertson, the Central Texas Area Museum in Salado preserves the pioneer history of the town and the many nationalities that settled the area, including the Scots-heavy Robertson Colony of 1825. It occupies a roughly century-old stone building across from the historic Stagecoach Inn in downtown Salado. Around 2012 it merged with the Salado College Foundation to form the Salado Museum and College Park, which also stewards the ruins of Salado College, built in 1859.
