History
The arched north entrance gate of Buckeye Park, about five miles northwest of downtown San Antonio, is a faux bois ("false wood") work in the organic style associated with sculptor Dionicio Rodriguez, with two knotted concrete trunks curving up to meet at an apex some 17.5 feet wide at the base. The gate survives from a larger park parcel bisected by Interstate 10 in 1958 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
