History
The International & Great Northern Railroad's San Antonio passenger station at Medina and Houston Streets was built in 1907 at a cost of about $142,000 to the design of architect Harvey L. Page, who drew on the local Spanish missions and called it his "Taj Mahal." Four Alamo-style parapets frame a dome topped by a bronze Native American archer, the railroad's emblem; the station closed in 1970 and was later adapted for use as a credit union.
