History
The Plehwe Complex is a group of historic saltbox-form houses on Boerne Stage Road near Leon Springs in Bexar County. The buildings were erected by Charles Felix George von Plehwe, a Berlin-born former captain in the Prussian King's Guard who emigrated to the United States in 1851 and purchased roughly 1,000 acres near Leon Springs. Resembling the Sunday-house form common around Fredericksburg, the site also operated as the Plehwe Stage Coach Inn. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 15, 1983.
