History

Built in 1904, this imposing residence was the home of merchant, banker and rancher Alexander Hart Halff and his wife Alma Oppenheimer Halff, whose family lived there until 1963. Designed by C. A. Coughlin and Atlee B. Ayres in the Tobin Hill neighborhood, it blends late-19th-century elements with early modernism and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
