State Highway 3-A Bridge at Cibolo Creek

The State Highway 3-A Bridge at Cibolo Creek is a steel Parker through-truss bridge spanning the creek at the Bexar and Guadalupe county line near Schertz, built in 1932-1933 as part of the original alignment of State Highway 3-A. It carries a single 120-foot main truss span with steel I-beam approaches and was constructed by the D.F. Jones Construction Company of Little Rock, Arkansas. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 10, 1996 under Criterion C as a representative Texas Highway Department truss bridge, it was repurposed as an Interstate 10 frontage road when parallel bridges were built in the early 1960s.
