History
A program of the Jewish Federation of San Antonio, the Holocaust Memorial Museum grew from Holocaust education efforts the community's Jewish Federation began in 1975, when history textbooks largely ignored the subject. The museum opened at its current location in May 2000. Its exhibits trace the steps that led to the murder of European Jews, American reaction to and involvement in World War II, and the stories of survivors who resettled in San Antonio after the war.
