History

West Columbia Paradise Cemetery, also known as WC Paradise, is a traditionally African American burial ground at West Columbia in southwestern Brazoria County, with graves dating from the mid-1800s to the present. Set on a shaded, creek-lined tract near the Varner-Hogg Plantation, it holds several hundred recorded burials and preserves the record of the area's Black community.
