History
This modest house in Cross Plains was the home of pulp writer Robert E. Howard, creator of Conan the Barbarian, Solomon Kane, and Kull, who lived here with his parents from 1919 until his death in 1936. The community group Project Pride bought the house in 1989 and restored it as the Robert E. Howard Museum, which hosts the annual Howard Days gathering. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
