History
The Carson County Courthouse in Panhandle, the county's third, was completed in 1950 in the Moderne style to designs by architect J. C. Berry, at a cost of about $465,000. The three-story, cream-colored structure of brick, limestone and orange granite faces east on spacious landscaped grounds at the center of town. It replaced an earlier 1909 courthouse designed by Leslie L. Thurmon.
