History

Hester Cemetery is located about two miles northeast of the Forest community in southern Cherokee County and was founded by S. M. Hester. Its burials, which include the Bailey, Darby, Dew, Dossett, and Gaston families, date back into the 1800s. The grounds are cared for by the Hester Cemetery Association, and the cemetery was surveyed in 1988.
