History

Arnold Cemetery lies about two miles north of Forest, east of FM 1911, in southern Cherokee County. It began with the burial of a traveler named Randel Mayo, who died at the home of a Mr. Newman while away from home; Newman later sold the land to a Mr. Arnold, and as others were buried there the ground took the Arnold name. It was catalogued in 1970.
