History

Lone Dove Cemetery lies about four miles north of Rusk, east of Highway 110, in northern Cherokee County. Its burials date to the 1800s, among the earliest being Sarah C. Timmons (1837-1879), and it served early settler families such as the Jenkins family. The cemetery was catalogued in 1968 and holds around 111 recorded graves.
