History

Ford Cemetery lies south of the Oakland community near Bean Creek in Cherokee County, close to the site of an old grist mill. It holds members of the Ford family, including Charles E. Ford (1835-1909), a Connecticut native who died near Rusk, and his wife Sarah E. Ford (1844-1910). The cemetery is recorded in the Texas Historical Commission's Atlas.
